For the first time this year, Mater Little Miracles 5ks will be held at Springfield. The fun family event on Saturday 17 March will feature Dora the Explorer, children’s activities and a 5k walk or run around the parklands.
Every year, Mater Foundation holds family friendly 5k walks across Queensland from March to July to raise funds to support Mater’s research programs to help sick children, mothers and babies.
Mater Foundation Executive Director Nigel Harris said the Mater Little Miracles 5ks event in Springfield is part of Mater’s commitment to the greater Springfield area.
“Mater is committed to meeting the growing needs of the Greater Springfield community with the opening of a holistic health service at Brookwater Retail Village. The Mater Health Centre Brookwater, opens in late 2012, and will include a Mater Pharmacy, a Mater Pathology collection centre, allied health services, medical imaging and visiting specialists,” Nigel said.
“We are excited about bringing Mater Little Miracles 5ks to Springfield and know the local community will show their support to help give all babies and children the best chance of a healthy future.”
The event will be held at the Robelle Domain on 17 March 2012 with entertainment starting at 3pm to get you warmed up before the walk begins at 4pm.
Registration for this event is already open and if you complete this before 14 March 2012 you will go into the draw to win two nights at the multi-award winning Sea World Resort & Water Park including an exclusive Dolphin Discovery Presentation plus Locals VIP Passes to Warner Bros. Movie World, Sea World and Wet ‘n’ Wild Water World for two adults and two children (valued at $789.96).
