Dr Robert Nona, a Medical Registrar working in the Mater Oncology Department has been spending a few months reviewing cancer patients’ care. Your support of Mater Prize Home lottery competitions helps Mater’s medical team enhance patient wellbeing.
Part of Dr Nona’s role is to organise new and ongoing chemotherapy, for ward and outpatients, and other treatment in conjunction with the Oncologist.
One of the most positive memories Dr Nona has of working with patients at Mater has been treating a young woman receiving breast cancer chemotherapy. “She had a young family, and due to her successful cancer treatment, she was able to resume normal family life with her family,” Dr Nona said.
“I enjoy working in this department because I can help take care of a wide range of patients with different cancer diagnoses, both acute and chronic,” said Dr Nona. “I also get to be part of a team providing exceptional care, including medical, specialist nursing and allied health professionals.”
The kind donation from supporters like you, through Mater Prize Home lotteries, helps fund a variety of areas in Mater’s Oncology Department, including new equipment and research to enhance cancer patient’s care.
