“We have seen first-hand the tireless work of Mater’s doctors and nurses in saving our daughter. We decided to support Mater so that others can be as lucky as our family was in receiving the best possible care, when we needed it.”

The below video shows the impact your ongoing support has made this year...

How your support has helped

Here is a snapshot of just some of the achievements you’ve made possible at Mater this year.

This year, you have helped...

Bring peace of mind to expecting parents
with more than 10 000 women presenting at Mater’s new 24/7 Pregnancy Assessment Centre in its first six months of operation.
Mater come one step closer to curing Alzheimer’s disease
by backing Professor Geoff Faulkner at Mater Research to explore whether long-term memory is stored in the brain’s DNA.
Support our researchers to invest in new, personalised treatments
that could change the lives of women everywhere diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
Give new hope to parents whose babies have been diagnosed with spina bifida
supporting Mater to perform Australia’s first in-utero spinal surgery and then go on to perform four more of these operations.
Mater’s doctors make a one in a million diagnosis
which led to 61 year old Rhonda walking again for the first time in 12 long years.
Our researchers investigate new treatments for anxiety and depression
that marks a major shift in understanding the brain’s ability to adapt and regenerate.
Make ground-breaking discovery to target certain types of breast cancer cells
to help the lives of more than 1000 women treated with breast cancer at Mater each year.

Thank you again for your support of Mater’s work in 2017.

We wish you and your loved ones a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year.
